qr-it

Privacy

qr-it is built to collect as little as possible. This page explains exactly what we store.

People who scan a QR code

When someone scans a qr-it code, we record the time, a coarse device type (phone, tablet or desktop), the operating system family and the browser family. To count unique visitors per day we store a one-way hash made with a random value that is replaced every day and then deleted, so it can't be linked across days or traced back to a person.

We do not store IP addresses, GPS or any location (not even country), the full browser user-agent string, or any cookie on the scanner's device. Scanners are forwarded to the destination immediately.

Account holders

We store your email address, a securely hashed password, the QR codes you create (names, links, colors and logos) and their scan statistics. We use one cookie, a session cookie that keeps you logged in. There are no advertising or analytics scripts on this site.

Deleting your data

Deleting a QR code permanently deletes its scan data. To delete your account and everything in it, contact the contact address on this site.

Hosting

qr-it runs on our own servers. We don't sell or share your data with anyone.
